Lacks the fruity nose or initial smoothness and dark fruit taste of a Napa Valley cab. After taste is less softnesss and vanilla and more tangy with cedar and tobacco. I wanted more than an average wine.

This deep ruby wine is a blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 0.5% Merlot and 0.5% Petite Sirah that was aged for 18 months in French oak (35% new). Sampled over a two-hour period from a bottle that was uncorked and poured, it offers a package of black currant and black cherry fruit that is buttressed with baking spices, fig, violets and tobacco. Medium-bodied, low-to-medium in acidity and with polished tannins, it hides its 15.2% alcohol well. Although the wine's oak pushes the envelope, it does not overpower the flavors. Dense on the mid-palate and medium-to-long on the back end, this is an enjoyable Cab that has no rough edges. It should provide pleasure throughout the remainder of this decade. Give it an hour or more of air if possible. Drink now-2030.

Particulate coated on the cork. Deep, dark appearance and flavor. Drank alone, after American-Italian food, but this wine would be better served with grilled beef, steak of any type, but best for ribeye.
