P&p. Straight out of the bottle, at cellar temp, there is not much going on; dull, and oddly off-dry. Thankfully, with two hours of air in the bottle and some additional chill it's showing better; the acidity comes through more, providing needed balance; nice citrusy character, like sour orange or Meyer lemon, together with fleshy stone fruit. Silky texture. Subtle undercurrent of salinity. The RS (or whatever causes an impression of sweetness) doesn't work particularly well; I'm not loving this compared to some of Cruse's other wines; still, enjoyable enough.

Nose - bright just ripe peach, touch of vanilla. Palate - apricot, smoke, salt. Lovely weight/texture. Delicious with linguine and clam sauce and throughout the evening.

Decanted 30 minutes. Mature, complex. Honey, pear, white flowers, beeswax, and crushed seashell on the nose. Dry palate, oily mouthfeel, melon, wax, lemon curd.

This is good wine. Rich and high toned with balance and layers of flavor. Nice value too.
