day one as pop and pour so so but day 2 just wonderful. thus plan ahead and give this puppy time. don't pop and pour. decant for a few hours or open and put the cork back in and drink the next day. first day average but day 2 WONDERFUL

last second quick choice just POP and perhaps the nicest vintage of big pour that i have had going back about 7 years. smooth and balanced and ready to go. but since i have "inventory" i will check in once a year or so if i can hold off. +++++

Initially, the Big Pour's acid, alcohol, and tannins were less harmoniously balanced than at the winery tasting described in my 2/13 note, but they came together over the course of the evening. Plan ahead to give the 2017 several hours in decanter: you'll be rewarded with a drinking experience that is utterly unique and just plain fun.

Kelly Fleming Estate Tasting: What a unique, delicious wine! The 2017 Big Pour is unlike anything else I've tasted out of Napa in quite a while: this 77% cabernet, 20% syrah, 3% malbec blend hits hard with kirsch, black currants, tart cranberry, and dark chocolate, then follows up with floral aromatics, supple tannins, and a smooth, long finish. It is eminently gulpable despite its high alcohol content (15%+ ABV). Drink over the next decade.
