  • Opened at 8am on Super Bowl Sunday, doing my part to will the Niners to a victory… least the wine was terrific.

First glass in the during the pregame - it need all the air and then some to unwind. Smells of violets, spiced red berries, ground coffee and cocoa. Leads with rich brambly fruits, cracked pepper and spice with iron and a flinty mineral note at the finish.

Structured with enough acidity to pair against the richness of the fruit and spice. Great wine, the craft and intention is evident. That said, as much as I enjoyed this their Grenache from the same vintage was a step above for me - really comes down to preference, you can’t go wrong.

  • Again like the 17 this was just flat. Very little fruit with a murky yet watery texture. Bough at release and stored in refrigeration. Possibly I just don’t like how these wines age. The 2020 drank along with 18 and 17 was great.

  • This was poured at home with the Coravin. The wine was mostly clear and Garnet Red in colour with a nose of Blackberries and black pepper. In the glass were flavours of dark berries and ripe red cherries at the end of each sip. There was also a noticable amount of maple flavours as the wine sat in my glass. The wine had a long finish although I was quite surprised that the tannins and acidity were not super strong. Overall, this was a very good wine.

  • This was poured at home. The wine was clear and dark red in colour with a nose of ripe cherries, black pepper and some vanilla. In the glass were red cherries, vanilla and a touch of green peppers. The tannins were strong while the acidity was at a nice, mid level.

  • 2hr restaurant decant over cocktails and musar 2001. This was singing, great concentration and I think this will only get better over the coming years.
