From one of the great producers in Austria. The Pellingen vineyard is terraced and steep at 35°. 250-315 meters above the valley floor, S/SW orientation. The Pellingen vineyard is classified as “Erste Lage” (1er Cru). ___________
Color: Lt-med straw.
Nose: Immediate hit of typical high-end smaragd Grüner herbal garden and golden fruit (mirabelle, white peach, lemon/lime). Elegant, clean nose. Typical Grüner herbal, sweet snap pea, golden fruit, and minerals.
Palate: Medium-full body. Lovely concentration and balance. Glossy mid-palette. Dry, crisp, snappy finish. Some CO2 in its youth here. Fascinating, typical GV finish of coriander and a kiss of fresh ginger (very distinct). 14% alc
Fantastic, single vineyard, smaragd-level Grüner-Veltliner!
2019 is turning out to be a great vintage in Austria. "Fully ripe, great vintage, precise fruit, good acid structure" (Austrian Wine .com)
Drink now for its freshness and youth. Or age until 2025 to 2029 to develop richness and more complexity.
