  • By the glass. From Fronsac, with merlot. Simple yet effective. Fleshy notes of black fruit on the nose. On the palate it is dry, in little stiff (excessive oak) and austere but at the end balanced and digestible. Without depth or elegance. Just right.

Por copas. Desde Fronsac, con merlot. Sencillo pero efectivo. Notas carnosas y de fruta negra en nariz. Al paladar es seco, in poco tieso (excesiva madera) y austero pero al final equilibrado y digestible. Sin profundidad ni elegancia. Solo correcto.

  • Many of the TJ stores have replaced the 2016 that punched above its price (see my notes for 2016) with 2017 vintage at the same price. This is unfortunate since this vintage isn't worth buying. If your store still carries the 2016 vintage and you liked it, grab a few bottles and sit this one out.

The aging that brought out the wood aromas in 2016 are totally missing. The nice tannins that gave a pleasant and cleansing finish in 2016 is absent. This is an unbalanced mess of residual sugars, acidity, and a thin body. It is unlikely to improve with age. Best to wait for the much better 2018 vintage to appear.

More herb and flower aromatics than 2016 with cherry notes but not enough to salvage a poor vintage and blend. The acidity and alcohol dominate. Not recommended.
