not a big fan of tertiary notes as I like crisp lemon and minerals This had creme brulet and carmelized sugar notes with little mineralogy Interesting to try, but past it's prime for this drinker

Certainly ripe and showing some development. It had some orange blossom and sappy white peach aromas and flavours. It was full and sappy with a relatively low acid feel.

This may be young. But this Batard showed little of either the magnificent restraint of the more elegant Batards I have had in years past or the sheer exuberance and body of the great Montrachets. The acid led tones did not dissipate. A bit of honey, some sophisticated peach and honeysuckle notes began to emerge, and the body remained modest. One can hazard a guess that WTSO wines of this caliber are there for a reason, but this, after all is a wine that should never suffer.

Oxidised. Down the sink. So glad I didn't pay for this particular bottle.
