On open, fairly subtle nose of black fruit and sweet woods with some cigar. Pretty attack of plums and black cherry and a hint of oaky sweetness, but then hollows out quickly on the mid-palate, followed by a very drying finish. Medium acid and still plenty of drying tannin, medium body. After nearly a day of air, the palate improved slightly. Overall, not something to seek out, but I'm not complaining for $8.

Ran through a vinturi to see if this helped and honestly this bottle was a better experience than the first one. Color on the lighter side more like a deep red brick tone. Nose was subtle, with aromas of cigar box, fruit, earthiness. Palate was balanced, smooth tannins, the finish was delicate and soft. 50,5,11,14,7=87

Popped and poured. Good nose of dark fruit and oak upon opening, but the aroma seemed to fade away over time and started to get thin. I do not drink many French wines and was some what disappointed with this since I am use to Napa blends that hold up much better. Decent wine for $16, but will not buy any more. 50+5+10+13+7=85
