  • [Restaurant purchase] PnP, great bottle. Chalky, minerality, flint, citrus, pear. Fruit shows it’s from a warmer vintage, but still quintessential chablis to me

  • Checking in on my first taste of this vintage from Dauvissat. This is a sharp, chablisene package of citrus, flint, and acid at present, with just a touch of creaminess on the back end. Quite driven at present and a bit wound up… but seems like it could turn into something great. Quite good now, but will save next bottle for 3-5 years.

  • Lots of 92 point notes and that's just about right, except this has some real upside beyond that. This is a well-made, well-balanced White Burg which a subtle mineral spine that reminds you it's Chablis. Definitely on the riper side but not at all blowsy or overblown. Still a decade or more from peak.

  • A few days in Napa with fellow CT'r Cristal2000: This is still in the librarian zone. I should read my own previous notes more often and pay attention to my own advice to hold these puppies. Plus, it didn't help that it was served in a "Chardonnay" glass that was more like a margarita goblet. So, take that for what it is. Lame stemware aside, this presented as it did last year for me: Yellow citrus, stone and maybe some vanilla (not sweet). Beyond that, it was a very good Chardonnay that is missing personality; nothing better at the moment than the Petit Chablis from this producer. Hold 'em if ya got 'em. Sealed with natural cork.

  • Stunning chablis, needs air to open up, oak and malolactic showing on opening, but with stonefruit, citrus, stony minerality and good acidity, becomes better and better with air and temperature
