I would drink these up....not the wine it was 2 years ago when I last drank this vintage...the plum is muted...almost a stewed plum component....still decent structure and finish....just past peak

I purchased half a case of this for $15 at a Sigels clearance (marked down from $50). The first couple of bottles disappointed with brutal tannins that only soften slightly with a few hours of decanting. Tried again last night with the same results. But this time set aside for a day. After 24 hours, the tannins are more integrated and the wine is actually rather nice. I've not had other vintages of Roccato so I'm not sure what's going on here. But I'll drink the rest of these only after opening a day in advance.

S: nice fruit on the nose, some cherry, dusty. The color was garnet with some browning around the rim. T: great mouth feel, good food acids, i didn't get the tanins that others got. I was hoping for it to pair well with pasta but it needs something more hearty like steak or roast beef. The wine faded after 3 hours.

Big bold spices on the front and finish. Better after a half hour of air. Paired bell with peppered beef.
