File this one under "good wines." You can tell this will be a superior sipping experience from your first sniff of the bouquet. The color is a deep, rich purple; the legs are slow.
You get all the dark fruit you'd expect in a Cabernet Franc, with the genteelness that is something of a flavor-mark for this winery. The body is medium-full. The flavors are clearly present, and the fruit is forward, but not overwhelming and smashing you in the face. It benefitted from a couple of hours of breathing to smooth out some of the bite we found at first sip.
But (and you knew there was a but coming, didn't you?) the community price is given as $68.48, but by the time I add tax + delivery from the winery, I was $86.16 poorer to drink this bottle of admittedly fine wine. Worth it? Maybe, but not the great value I'd hoped to find in a Central Coast wine. Once you're up to $90 a bottle, you can do well pretty much anywhere.

The usual, terrific Austin Hope juice. Not as extracted as usual - a more refined style, but still reflective of Austin's hand as a winemaker. Fruit-forward, floral and a pleasure to drink. Probably not in for the long haul, so drink in the next 3-4 years.
