  • Pulled this delicious CdP out for Easter Sunday lamb with all the family. Lovely concentrated aromas of anise, clove, vanilla, kirsch, rose petals & black & red cherries. M(+) tannins present but with time in the decanter they seemed to mellow. Palate is more black fruit with blueberry too. Feels like a wine that will start to develop in 2-3 years, for now it's very tasty but will get better.

  • This cuvée seems to have been formulated to counter the stewed fruit overripeness, excessive weight, and hot alcoholic finish of many CdPs. It succeeds on all fronts, leaving us with something closer to a luxury Côtes du Rhône: an elegant (some have said “precise”) GSM blend that’s otherwise hard to place. Defined more by what it’s not than by what it is, I can see why Saint Prefert would choose to discontinue this bottling going forward.

  • More elegant than the other Prefert releases. Great acidity and a bit more elegant. Briary fruit, Asian spice. Acidity and fine tannins give a long finish. Will be great in with a few years in bottle.

  • Lovely ruby red. After PnP, somewhat subdued nose of green pepper and wet wood shavings. The palate displays very fine tannins, and a well balanced structure. Nice acidity to provide length. Fruit sits in the background but I feel is building. After a couple of hours in glass/bottle it really starts to improve. A very fine wine, but needs at least 2 years (if not 3) before I open next one.

  • Wow. Wonderful out of the bottle but this is something to hold on to. Hold for at least 5 years - even though drinks beautifully now.
