A positive bouquet promised much. On the palate there was bright cherry fruit that was spicy and medicinal, overlying soft ruffled tannins. Initially savoury, the fruit was sweet, juicy and spicy, developing a silky smooth sweetish finish. Enjoyable, but this didn’t grip me as much as a Freisa or Barolo I had enjoyed with friends the previous Thursday. CHP 89 pts

Quite sweetly fruited, though with an earthy element, on the nose and palate - still pretty primary. Really intense aroma - beetroot, tomato puree, red berries, perhaps some black olive. Tannins still fairly firm but well balanced with real smoothness and harmony on the palate, I was almost wishing it was a bit more rustic. Salted licorice sensation on the palate. I thought this might be a bit more developed at this point, but I think it actually has a long way to go.

Medium light body, the nose takes a while to unfurl, then you get some dried rose petals and tomato paste, the tannins have mostly receded and left just a fine scraping behind, the wine is fresh and has more tomato paste and sour cherries. An earlier drinking vintage by all accounts and certainly no crime to drink now, but has more time left too

This is one of the finest specimens of modern xinomavro together with the ones of thymiopoulos. Not much to add really on all previous great notes. Amazing vfm.
