  • From the Veneto region and made with partially dehydrated local grapes: 70% Corvina, 25% Rondinella and 5% Molinara. This is my first experience with this type of wine. I think this is a bit of an acquired taste and it seems strange to me. Beautiful blood-red colour with a very jammy nose (almost like fresh prunes and cherry juice) and a similar taste with quite a lot of residual sugar, not many tannines or acidity and a lot of alcohol. I used it as an accompaniment of red meat, mushrooms and baked potatoes and I really doubt this is the best match. Maybe some spicy snacks or oriental food would have been better. Can somebody enlighten me? Because of my lack of experience with this type of wine I am giving no quotation at all.

  • Excellent amarone, bursting with flavors and presenting a long enjoyable finish. Still a bit young and would benefit from a couple more years in storage.

  • Medium ruby colour. Medium and developing nose with raisin, prune, fig, baked plum, dried herbs, earthy and smoke. Medium (+) taste of raisin, fig, baked plum, smoke and earthy. Medium (+) and off-dry finish. Medium acidity. High tannins. Full body. A very good Amarone. Part of my WSET3 exam prep. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with beef or chocolate.
