  • My first encounter with Ludes' wines was less than impressive, however this one here is very, very nice stuff.

For one, it completely avoids any kind of clumsyness or heaviness that is often associated with Spätlese; this is a lean, wel drinkable, nevertheless rich wine.

Then, there is just a tiny bit of sweetness, the wines does not feel sweet at all.

Third, there is great minerality and a bit of petrol tone, all well balanced and proportioned.

The result is a wine very much to my liking: displaying depth yet well drinkable; complex yet tasty.

The style remotely reminds me of JJ Prüm.

Will buy more and upon getting to better know it, the score might go higher still.

13 EUR is a more than fair price for this - excellent QPR.
