  • Purple in color. 14.9% ABV. Riveting nose of black fruits, flowers and pepper. Medium body with medium acidity. Soft, supple and approachable. Claret style with tremendous balance. Blackberry, raspberry, tobacco and pepper on the palate. Nice length on the finish. Delicious, easy to drink and best over the next several years.

  • PNP, followed over a couple hours. Needed about an hour to open up, then just plain deliciousness. Juicy red and dark red fruit, black cherry. Medium body, slightly chewy tannins to frame the fruit. 14.9 ABV, but you can’t tell, great balance and layered flavors. Boisterously good now, it might gain more elegance with a few more years, but I doubt my other two bottles will last that long. Good now with short decant.

  • Really enjoyed this one! Serious black berry and spice both notes, dark and brooding purple yet light to medium bodied. Very nice mouthfeel with a finish that lasts at least a full minute. Popped and poured, then vino corked for 5 days, came back to it not expecting much and it was still hanging tough with very solid fruit. Just a fantastic bottling!

  • This is, for the moment, not as much fun to drink as the 2018. It still offers a big mouthful of blackberry-blueberry juice, but the tannins aren't integrated, and the finish is a bit short. Leave this one alone while you drink up the previous vintage.

  • Quick decant. Nose of blackberry, wet bark, cola, and walnut wood. Rustic black raspberry driven by vibrant energy ripples across the tongue, adding roses, blood orange and cherry with notes of lilac. Young but pliant tannins with cherry and rasberry and dusty earth. Great now and will likely develop, though I like the fruit enough to drink on the early side.
