  • Fading as compared to the previous bottle. Still delicious, but I'd drink up if you have any remaining.

  • The cork was holding up ok in storage, but in extraction failed multiple times and was rubbery & soft. Filtered with a strainer & decanted to rid the wine of the cork chunks. The wine however is great!

  • Love it. It's still got a few years of life at least, but drinking beautifully. Big nose of (I think) cassis or other tart red fruit mixed with dry leaves or tea. Flavours are blueberry and meaty earth. Finish goes on for a while and turns smoky at the end, but more like roasted meat smoke than oak toast smoke.

Edit: I looked up the Geek Sheet on this wine and it's almost 60% Cab! That explains a bunch. 25% Petite Verdot, 13% Tempranillo, 7% Grenache.

  • The color of this wine reminded me of squished blackberries. On the nose I found nutmeg, blueberry, vanilla, spice, herbs, mint, and other dark fruit. In the mouth I got cherries, red fruit, blueberries, vanilla, raspberries, spice, nutmeg, cinnamon, and plums. This was like drinking comfort food in a glass of wine. Definitely perfect for what I was looking for that night: A layered red, with nice complexity in the mouth, and big spicy fruit. YUMMY!

  • A good bottle of wine. Not anywhere near "The Spainard" however. Very pungent, with a dark fruit profile that doesn't totally come together, yet at the same time offers some interesting notes of tar, blackberry and smokieness.
