Bought 4 bottles for $5 each at Spectrum Wine auctions. Glad I did. While this is clearly on the decline it is a beautiful wine today and will be for another year or two I think. Classic aged nose of prune, tobacco, violets, forest floor. Totally integrated tannins and a silky finish that lasts about 20 seconds. At $5 it's crazy town but even at the current auction average of around $25-30 I think it makes for a really interesting wine to drink now.

Very classic, restrained, aged cab, with sour cherry, tobacco, graphite, light spice. Fully-resolved tannin, lively acidity, very low alcohol. Very very nice.

This was a polarizing wine, though quite typical for a restrained older Cali cab. Garnet, with no sign of bricking. Sour cherries and leather dominate with dark fruit, cedar, tobacco, and savory baking spices. Med- body, fully integrated med- tannin, med+ acidity. Spicy, sour palate. Needs some air to show its stuff, and does not fall apart hours later. This still has some life ahead of it.

Incredible, but definitely showing its age. Oxidized, but showing amazing notes of candied fig, loamy earth and sweet pipe tobacco.

Pretty amazing stuff, rich and meaty, maybe a hint of leather and paprika. Could still go another couple of years.
