  Pnp aroma of stewed fruit, smoky tomato jam, graphite with a tongue of black licorice, prune and sundried tomato. After 30 minutes in the glass, smoky black cherry and paprika notes arrive on the nose, with flavors of tart cherry, pepper and spice on the palate. This wine is lightly astringent, off dry and a bit thin with a nice long finish. Lovely example of one of my favorite grapes.

  An exquisite wine right near its peak. Smooth, sophisticated, not overbearing, heavy or cloying. Beautiful nose, wonderful on the palate. Notes of nutmeg, coriander, raisins, leather, tobacco, and some floral notes as well. Very delicious, and highly drinkable. Wish I had bought more.

  (Tasted at the wine fair 2016 of "Silkes Weinkeller", Germany.)
  This Amarone is a 'disciplined' and astonishingly elegant wine.
  Of course it does not hide what makes an Amarone an Amarone, but it is not at all going to the direction 'marmelade'. On the contrary: the sturcture is clear and strong so that it will easily last for 20 years. This is definitely the type of Amarone I am looking for. I am impressed. Bought a case to enjoy Christmas 2036.
