Spectacular - such a pleasure! Medium nose initially is a nice, balanced triplex of earthiness, florals (roses & violets) and fruit (red and black berries), which over time, begins to be dominated by florals. The mouthfeel is both lush and elegant, with fine-grained tannins; mid-palate feigns a shadow, but this leads into a surprisingly, powerful finish that really extends with fruit and spices on the back palate. Beautiful, intelligent, cultured, polite and a joy to be around: this is the kind of Beaune that you bring home to meet the parents. 92-93 now. *If you're trying to find this on a map, 1er Clos des Couchereaux is technically a part of 1er Coucherias (1 mile directly west of Beaune) - the part that's more steep and stony, more east-facing with more clay.

good medium red color, deliciously ripe nose of raspberries, blackberries and cherries with underbrush and light mineral notes, clay, on the palate very attractive and slightly assertive on the front end leading into a muted and seemingly lighter mid-palate of primary red-driven frut, good dryish finish with more prominent chalk and mineral notes, with time in glass the fruit opens on the middle showing buttery textures and a joyous ripeness with zesty raspberry notes, kirsch and black cherries, that said it remains a tad light front a depth perspective, fragrance growing on the tail end, 5 hours - the nose really comes alive now with strawberries, cherries and brush, on the palate cuddly and joyously ripe with a firm structure that is slowly and quietly growing in the background, note of plum pit at this point, finish slightly austere, depth on the middle now feels much more in line with the rest of the wine despite remaining difficult to read, a very pretty Beaune and if it fills out with age it should go the distance quite nicely.
(***)+, maybe (****) if it fills out a bit more in time, 2030+
This is a very intense, serious and tasty Beaune. Lots of florals on the nose but then black and blue berries on the palate, with hints of aniseed, salinity, game meats, clove and pepper. There is serious intensity and length, and it certainly over delivers for a Beaune premier cru. Really delicious already at only 3 years old, and should develop beautifully. A relative bargain.

This is complex and fine with a blue fruit profile and highly-perfumed florals. It is silky against the gims and has a cool, minerally finish. Great balance and proportion.

Raspberry, blackberry, cloves; fruitful and full, reasonably long; fairly simple but good intensity of fruit
