Good showing. Old wine bouquet of decayed leaves, soil, cherries, balsam, and a hint of Sweet Tarts. The palate started off dark and stony, with crushed rocks and a spicy piquancy leading the way. But the mineral tones softened after an hour of air, revealing good balance and acidity, and a gentle marine quality to remnants of savory red fruit that held up nicely for another three hours.

opened, ran through vinturi, lush for its age, deep red - not bricked - lighter berries such as strawberry and raspberry. We did not wait to drink - it did not seem to require much time to open.

Magnum, decanted & poured: Mature brick red, orange rim, 4. Complex mature nose. Elegant well balanced taste.
