  • Pale straw colour. Citrus nose. This bottle hard to love. Not much going on and never really got going. This is one of those wines that seems to be so vintage variable. Some have been glorious whereas others are barely meh.

  • Hasn’t changed from 2021 tasting note, drinking very well and excellent value.
At least 2-3 years of drinking.

  • Really happy now after the disappointing early bottles. This is beginning to reveal its quality to me.

Still a nice peachy, melony top-note. Alcohol much better covered now. After a 2 hour decant, the first day, I could detect this truly enormous concentrated core of ripe fruit acids waiting to burst out. They were a bit cardboardy at this point, but the promise was compelling. On day 2 the cardboard had gone, and we had a nice taut wine with real depth and length. And they continued to open out on days 3 and 4 - in fact it was on day 3 that it really hit the mark. And it was so intense, I didn't even need to drink very much of it. There's real concentration here.

So I do now see a wine of real quality, recognising the very high marks the critics gave when this wine was released. I've not yet seen a wine I want to pull the cork and quickly start glugging as I did with the earlier 2 vintages. But I think with time this might be even better.

I'm now wondering what to do with the '21, which I have just secured a decent amount of. I have a feeling the '21 might be even more backward.

  • A bit more integrated than last time, and not quite as short. Some evidence of the lemon peel nose and finish I look for. Alcohol still a bit obtrusive, but not quite as much. So maybe just needs a bit more time still.

  • Not up to the quality of the 2018 or 2019, at least not today.

Decanted for an hour, and drunk over several days, and didn't really evolve to advantage.

Lovely peachy nose/palate, unfortunately let down by the hotness from the obtrusive alcohol. What's really missing from the previous vintages is a finish. We haven't really got one, only the alcohol. The earlier vintages had this lovely lemon peel finish.

Maybe I wasn't generous enough with the marks for the earlier ones. This one is worth about 4 less than those in this state.

Maybe time will do its trick.
