Took to dinner with a friend who was visiting. Wine was served a little chilled which lead to the aromatics being a little subdued initially. As the wine warmed up, you get quite a bit of red fruit and a touch of floral. Quite dark in colour and quite fruit forward but not as heavy as some of Cali big-boy PN. It actually carried the 14.7% alcohol quite well. Not an overly complex wine and nice but I prefer Burgundy and this would not be mistaken for a Burgundy. My friend liked it - I gave him a choice of this and a 2000 Chateau Fombrauge St Emilion GC and he chose this.

(Phillips Hill Toulouse Pinot Noir) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-really nice "Garden" action; pretty raspberry; celery stick; cabbage; hints of powdered chocolate mix; little tight; TASTE-this is ripping good; very Burgundian on the mouthfeel; gorgeous cherry cola flavors on the mid-palate; really pretty blend of red & black fruit (beautiful raspberries & cherries, but then loaded on the back-end w/ black currant and some raisin on the end); very pretty, very focused, very floral; 2+ minute finish; I'm in love w/ this wine; bringing serious thunder; I'm completely taken aback by the overall explosiveness of this wine; the richness, the depth; the Old World love (Anderson Valley); the New World love; this has everything to be a very classic Pinot; an absolutely tremendous bottle of Pinot Noir; WE-91; GV-94

If you still have one, open it now and drink it within 60 minutes. It fades into an alcoholic mess, but on open is rather nice.

Not decanted.
Impressive weighty "big-boy" PN with excellent red fruits.
As awesome as some Kosta's and AntHill's I have enjoyed.

I thought this bottle must be off. Sour, bitter in the mid palate.
