As usual, this is a full-bodied Chenin Blanc with great intensity and character. There are rich yellow and green fruits with a fabulous chalky mineral flavor that is so delicious and unique. It has zesty acidity that creates great succulence on the palate and the finish is palate-staining with complex notes of spearmint, limestone and charcoal with tiny hints of chlorine and fresh veggies. A touch of oak to resolve yet but great now with food.

nose- lemon-lime meets toasty oak mouth - here i see a spritely and lively wine with an oak ball and chain that keeps it from being joyous and carefree. rather its more ponderous with serious caramel undertones but lacks the body of chardonnay to balance it. Not sure chenin is meant to be consumed this way, or at least it catches me off guard. I think my best bet is to cellar away my few other bottles for a decade to see what becomes...

Pale straw. Quite deep, complex, and rather structured — with excellent acidity. Very enjoyable over two nights, fading just a bit on the second. (At Harbor House, Elk.)

Way too oaky for me, which is a bummer because the underlying fruit was inticing.

Fresh and crisp. Green apple, honey, a little burnt hair. Well balanced and searing acidity. Med-high viscosity. Long finish.
