Bottle no. 103165 for reference. Forgot this in my cellar and was a bit concerned that it had aged out. Simply not the case. After letting it breath for a couple of hours, the wine showed a refined balance often missing in younger versions. Old school style still prevalent with lots of leather, wood (sandlewood?) and current. Wine royalty plain and simple.

4th Saturday Brown Bagger (The Anvil Club, East Dundee, IL): Opens with a weedy quality- perhaps there's some brettanomyces influence here too- with dusty cedary red fruit. The palate has a darker fruit profile than the bouquet suggests, along with dusty earth and tea leaf qualities. Finishes qute well though. Guessed old CA cab.

Ok. Fruit almost gone. Nice tannins. But over the hill.
