The nose is really attractive. It has good fruit, a mix of dark cherry and tart cranberry, some earthiness, clove and minerality and shows a volatile edge. Really bright and detailed. On the palate this has the typically generous 2019 fruit and good concentration but little weight, firm body and terrific acidity. I have to say the blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay feels a bit perverse to me but in the end it works really well here, differents parts blending in quite nicely. There is a good bit of tartness coming through but the riper cherry fruit caresses the palate nicely. It is a mighty structured and poised wine that finishes rather tight. Serious stuff, but still very enjoyable and easy to appreciate. A rebuy for me, unless the price becomes prohibitive as is often the case with Burgundy.

A very fine Passetoutgrains from Nicolas. A bit young but ooh so lovely. Wild nose, some whole cluster, meat and juicy dark cherries, red airy flowers with herbs and a touch of soil. Palate with with tart cranberries, sweeter cherries and strawberries, high acidity mixed with ripe dark cherries and spices on a long finish with a great lift. Very Pinot (90% vs. 10% Gamay so not strange) - a serious wine with very good quality's. Excellent booth with food and as a conversation wine. I'm a big sucker for Groffiers Passetougrains, wish I could get my hands on more. I rate this higher than many village/generic Pinot wines from lesser producers.

Exciting passetoutgrain from Groffier! Dense dark ruby red in appearance. Nose is vivid, fairly floral with lots of ripe red fruit (cherries, in particular), some spice, light touch of earth. Palate is medium-bodied, lively acidity, gone tannins, cherrish, fairly convex in terms of fruit. Very glossy in style.

90% PN an 10% Gamay. A bit reductive at first, but opens willingly up after some time in the glass - strawberry and Red currant on the nose. Dry. Fruity and vivid. Fresh acidety. Cherry and red fruit on the palate. Very easy drinking, but still offers comlexity and depth. Very nice!
