PNP. Cork wet 1/4 way up but otherwise intact. Color garnet w bricking. Nose all secondary w earth and a twist of licorice? Swishing shows acidity muted by age and tannin fully integrated. I get a roasted rhubarb note on the finish, but the finish lasts for a minute. Think I would have preferred this in youth, but at the time Allocation was too small (1 bottle) and it was too expensive (I was poor) to try. Very good tho

At Roberta & David Errenreich's dinner party paired with poulet w herbs and prunes. The competition 98's Goldeneye, and Williams Selyem Allen V. This was clearly the biggest deepest and most youthful wine of the three. It was the best on its own, but didn't pair as well as the lighter mature Goldeneye with the poulet.

A little off on the nose, some VA elements. Tart palate that is leaner the the East Block and seems more aged. Medium finish.

13.5% alcohol. Dark red color. Ketchup on the nose lets you know something is amiss -- and this is cooked, too. Sigh. Flawed.

very well integrated with fine tannins remaining. Showed beautifully after a 1 hour decant.
