  • I had some people mention in another wine group that this was peak, but I had the opposite experience. Improved over 24 hours. Really wonderful. I think this has years left.

  • Lovely and earthy just the way I like my merlot. Splendid

  • Undisclosed Bordeaux blend from the right bank of Lalande de Pomerol, 13% ABV, not mevushal. Appearance was a deep ruby with heavy viscosity. Nose is high intensity, Black cherry, black currant, blueberry, violet, black pepper, menthol, anise, eucalyptus, tobacco leaf, leather, loam, cola, sandalwood, cedar, incense, and dill. On the palate it’s medium bodied, polished, very earthy with tart fruit, lots of acid, and supple tannins. Sour cherries, blackberries, plum sauce, licorice, spicy black pepper, green leaf, loam, coffee, and cigar box. Finish is long and tannic, restrained fruit and Dutch cocoa. Overall, very polished and tight in style, but definitely approachable now, can be aged as well.

  • Nice plush velvety bouquet and flavors of cassis blackberries blueberries dark fruits. Along with vegetal notes and earthiness. Excellent concentration. Good acidity. Lots of tannins. This wine certainly needs time and if consume now needs to breathe for at least a few hours. A more classic style border than the 2015 where this is more lean and tart and they really but this should flesh out over time. Definitely needs at least a few years of age

  • So, the first bottle I had I did not let sit long enough after getting my shipment and it likely had bottle shock. The second bottle I had was clearly a bad bottle (based on today's tasting). Dark color. Concentrated bouquet of earthy crushed violets and cassis all rolled in to one. On the palate, concentrated with good fruit but a ton of acids (not the sexy fleshy 2015, but more of a classis Bordeaux in that sense). Flavors of fresh earth, sweet dark plums, cassis, crushed violets, stone, minerals with hints of leather that become more prominent on the long finish. Should this flesh out with age, which I suspect it will, this will be fantastic and if so a great QPR. Worth getting to age and compare to the 2015 over time. Most will prefer the 2015, but to drink the same thing all the time is boring. Likely best from 2024-2031
