Brought this wine to Lee Do Restaurant for a wine dinner. Theme of the evening: Wines that start with the letter U.
Bright, fresh purple in colour. Aromatic freshly grounded coffee on the nose. Tannat really lives up to its reputation as a harsh grape varietal. While the Merlot achieves its aim of balancing and taming its partner by providing some feminine charm and grace, there's no hiding the raw energy and characteristics of the wine: Red fruit aromas, with white pepper in the finish.
