Spanish fun day one (N&J's place, Canberra): From Coravin. Vanilla, sweet spice, especially clove and nutmeg, toasted coconut over muted red berry fruit. In the mouth it's much of a muchness to the nose; oak water with a splash of red berry fruit, an initial lick of quite sharp acidity completes the picture. Not for me.

Realized I had this bottle set to go and forgot about it, so tasted as a PnP. Despite its youth, it opened quickly. The oak is there, but not overwhelmingly so, same with the earthy, saline notes. It's got a lot of red fruit, but to me more black fruit. It has fairly high acidity, but not as much as I feared for such a young wine. In other words, this wine is wonderfully balanced, with modern leanings.

Delicia de Ribera. Tras una buena aireación nos regala generoso notas a cuero, frutos rojos, arándano, hongo y establo. Una joya.
