What an unexpected treat. There were hints of greatness from the peerless clarity of the bottle. One of the best Australian aged Chardonnay’s I’ve had for awhile. This wine was in tremendous shape (stelvin). Light golden now but ultra bright and clear. This freshness flows to the taste. There’s a certain broadness/roundness of mouthfeel from age but still a bright sense of acidity. On the palate citrus, pineapple sherbet, perhaps some stone fruit, touch of (unobtrusive) oak or cut hay - some nuttiness and honey/butter after lingering in the glass. Could easily go for another few years. Had an engaging more-ish quality.
