Christmas Gathering at Daniel's Place (Daniel's place): Pale garnet with significant browning on edges. Uber deep floral nose with some dried cranberry and forest floor, as well as a hint of coffee and caramel. Acids still exuding freshness, whilst tannins resolved, of airy lightness yet a great intensity and complexity, of dried cranberry and red cherry, candied dried tomato, forest floor, potpourri, slight barnyard. The finish is minute-long, and so uber complex. This bottle is what I'd call madness! Made me a happy man

The wine has medium acidity. It smells like raspberry. The body is medium. The wine finishes long. It tastes like strawberry jam and coffee. The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. The wine has silky texture.

Very disappointing. Nose had fresh fruit and nice spice melange - but a bit muddled. Very primary on taste - seemed a bit over-extracted. I can see the Grand Cru quality here - but it is hiding underneath. Very 2003 with fruit at the fore. I am not sure it had the structure. It is not close to being ready to drink and the fruit is masking any nuance.

Complex, changing, good balance. Palate is ok but not so refined. A strong effort for the 2003.

Ripe aromas, felt cooked, then orange peel. Very alcoholic palate.
