  Well done Mission Hil for producing such beauty and with such long legs. But why go cheap on the cork. Bottles kept in a pristine temperature and humidity and fell apart at the touch of the screw. I was fully prepared for a disaster but after extended fishing and filtering was magnificent. Not for much longer tho.

  Excellent accompaniment to grilled beef tenderloin with sautéed mushrooms and Cambozola cheese (melted slices on top). The wine is definitely peaking now. It still had a richness of dk red & blk fruits with finer tannins and some acidity present. Three bottles served and this was a slight fave over a '98 Pomerol but paled in comparison to '08 Syrah from Le Vieux Pin.

  I stand by my earlier rating.
  
  I Coravin'd a glass about a year ago and it was..."okay". We opened up the bottle on Friday to have with a simple chicken, gravy, rice, and corn dinner. The wine was just subpar. It improved a bit in the glass but only to the point of being "alright".
  
  I don't think it's fair to knock a wine too low for PQR, or else I'd give this about an 84 or so. Taste is taste. This just isn't great for the cost.

  I was wrong in my last tasting note on this wine (I think it was 3 years ago). I had said that I felt like it did not have a long life left, but this baby is just motoring along and seems to be continuing to improve.
  
  This is an amazing BC wine, but very pricey for what you get (The bottle looks impressive, though). The nose is relatively powerful, jumping out of the glass. It seems to die down a bit after an hour or so, and needs some swirling to bring it back. Notes of spice, dark fruit. A still a little hot with nice flavors of slightly tart black cherry. Tannins are smooth and the finish is long. This baby has legs! I would say it could probably use another 3 years in the cellar.

  Clear dark purple in color. Clean nose of cassis, floral, and some spice. Dry, med acidity, med body, tannins still strong, cassis, some leather, and spice on palate. Nice finish. Nice wine but over priced.
