Dark ruby, pretty much opaque, with a noticeably light rim. The nose is restrained, with only a touch of plummy fruit and some oak coming through. The palate has generous quantities of juicy, ripe fruit - damsons, I think. There's a noticeable quantity of fine to medium-grained tannins, but the finish is harmonious. On first opening, I thought I detected unattractive bretty aromas, but those seem to have disappeared over an hour or so, leaving an enjoyable if modest red Bordeaux. Organic. 14%, cork.
