  • On the nose, toffee, butterscotch, caramel, walnut, almond, white chocolate. Utterly captivating. I want a candle of it. On the palette a wonderful austerity of fruit, over ripe to the point of being brown apple, and oak. Also something lovely and fresh and juicy in the attack, maybe melon and/or pear, that fades into the apple, and then a long oaky finish. Something savoury too. No oxidisation. What an experience.

  • A really evolved colour that’s almost copper like and had me fearing the worse for a wine of this age; an oxidised wine. Thankfully, that was not the case. The wine showed beautifully with hazelnuts, walnuts, white chocolate, oxidised Bramley apple, light caramel, light butterscotch, and charred oak on the nose. The palate shows great freshness with a burst of sweetness on the mid palate and an array of baked orchard and stone fruits. Persistent finish.
