  • not quite as I remember it from Sportello's in Boston, but a fabulous meal will influence the experience some - cloudy apricot color, floral honey nose, some sort of exotic fruit and a very faint sharpness, taste is complex, a succession of sensations that are hard to nail down, liquid honey, but fruity and floral, not like mead, no distinct raisin taste, very pleasant, but frustratingly difficult to describe

  • compares very favorably with high end sauternes, initially comes off as powerful, masculine, packing a bit of a wallop, but an amazing depth and complexity as the wine opens up - served at Sportello's in Boston with one of the world's best strawberry shortcakes

  • enjoyed this wine with pat, giulio, donna, frankie, grandma and grandpa pomponio for easter sunday. a little austere but favorably comparable to a good quality sauternes. drank beautifully by itself as well as an accompaniment to italian pastry. my source for this wine is now featuring other products from this producer that are highly rated. this appears to be an unrecognized gem.
