Opened and paired with grilled chicken salad with all the Mediterranean fixings. Bright ruby-crimson color. Floral nose brings a variety of red flowers, anise, and cinnamon spices. The palate is medium, round, and supple, bringing a formidable combo of blue and red fruit intermixed with some tea, smoke, and orange peel into the finish. I found this a tad too jammy and sweet for my palate - to the point of being distracting - but willing to give this a few more years to even out since it was a ripe vintage and has a good backbone. Drink 2026-2032. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 89.

Friday night dinner at Nicolas. Generously shared by a friend I bumped into. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromss of dark herbs, ripe red berries, licorice spice, hint of controlled wildness. Developing. On the palate, dry, gentle medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium tannins, medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of wild dark berries, ripe red berries, dark herbs + bits of mineralic earth, spiciness. Medium+ finish. Good quality. Nice spicy characterful Savigny village intepretation.
