Tasted this after I went to a world pinot tasting at my local wine shop (Germany, Santa Barabara, New Zealand, Burgundy, Argentina and Santa Lucia Highlands wines were featured). I prefer this Patz & Hall variety over all those by a fair bit. My palate and pinot history is limited, but I probably prefer more fruit-forward pinots with extraction and more density than the faint fruity, barnyard acidic style. This wine fits my palate nicely and has nice cherry aromas, resolved tannins and is a well integrated wine. Not crazy structure and complexity in comparison to the 2012 version of this that I tried recently, but a nice wine and I'm enjoying it.

The Patz & Hall Pinot Noir is light cranberry colored slightly opaque wine with a nose of raspberry, esters, turned earth and charcoal. The palate is light to medium with a sweet fruit and complex middle with almost no tannin. This was excellent with the light bite of inside/out fish tacos at 38 Central last night

(Patz & Hall Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast) #3; COLOR-medium; NOSE-classic strawberries & cherries; little black pepper; a little gamey; TASTE-big mouthfeel; heavy; an explosion; creamy; little Oaky, but the fruit is on point; clean, beautiful, rich strawberry; a little too Oaky for me; many would love this; GV-89

Cherries everywhere! On the nose, on the palate. Still lots of fruit, very lively. Good California pinot.
