Community Tasting Notes (4) Avg Score: 92 points

  • Savory, spice, some whole cluster inclusion for sure. Will continue to improve with age

Edit: increasing score from 91 to 92 on day 2, as it improved significantly. Will be interesting to see how this wine continues to develop

  • Really nice stuff - nose has a lot of red fruit intensity, there’s just a ton of stuffing here.

Wine starts off a bit tannic, but mellows with 30 minutes of air. Palate is nicely red fruit driven / lots of raspberry, rhubarb, orange peel, and wet earth. There is a lot going on here and while still primary definitely some really depth. Med/ high acidity, powdery tannins but relatively tannic for OR Pinot.

Drinking nicely now, should be plenty of upside. Great stuff!

  • Light ruby color. Interesting Pinot and still a bit young seemed a bit tight. Pomegranate, earth and mushroom. Has some Burgundian traits that are pleasing.

  • Quite a bit angular at first. With some red fruits, potpourri, baking spices, dry flowers and smoked black tea leaves. With time it rounded out some, but even then at times it did feel a bit jagged. At times it also felt a bit thin and hollow on the mid palate, especially as I recalled the structure of 2017 Black Label version of the wine. Eventually I decided to pop a bottle of the 2018 version of the wine to try alongside it. Indeed it was a big step up. As for this, about 5 years in the cellar will do it nicely.
