Home drinking - this is quite exceptional in terms of complexity. Yeasty nose intermingled with apple topnote. Nicely oxidative, woven in the wine fabric. Mousse opens a bit aggressive and peppery but quickly takes backseat to the underlying juice. There is vanilla and spices too. The praline found on Eglys. The nose is to die for. Very saline on the finish.

Disgorged in October 2021. Deep reddish gold. Daringly oxidative aromatics, but they pull it off in style. Lots of baked apples, preserved red berries, almond cake and assorted nuts, with an almost paradoxical freshness on the floral and mineral side. Finishes dry, long and saline. In a remarkably good spot now, it could develop for a few years more. Excellent and original stuff from a favourite producer.

The November 2021 disgorgement, which may be the final and most recent disgorgement for this vintage of Concordance. 100% Pinot Noir, this is the non-sulfured cuvee. I've had many bottles of this now and the bottle yesterday (and with the retaste tonight), it's truly something special. Showing some of the same more golden color as past bottles, yet the wine shows fresh and clean. And, this bottle has the smoky/reductive quality that some of the past bottles have beautifully shown, too. Yellow apple and black cherry. Gorgeous with a saline finish. Retasted again using the last few ounces I maintained from yesterday, damn this is good. I mean really good. It takes me back to the very first bottle I had of this a few years ago and the impact that bottle had on my senses. The tactile feel of the wine, with the minerality component is such a cool driver of the wine's profile, then the fruit wraps around it, like a smoky apple and strawberry. It's at one moment savory then the next feeling rich, yet it's in balance. I need to track down a few more of these and put them back into my cellar--what a killer bottle of Champagne.
Sushi Dinner at Hatsu (Hatsu): Pnp. Disgorged Nov 2021. Nutty and brioche aromas. On the palate acidilty was very high leaving sour notes and wine seems disjointed. Definitely not expected from this domaine.

Light yellow-orange color. Rich and expressive aromatics. Light to medium-light bodied on the palate, with rich flavor (red berries), high acidity, and a hint of reductive earthiness. Lots of flavor, but bone dry. Excellent!
