  • Medium yellow color. Quite aromatic blend of honey, minerals, and spices. Initial reaction was of honey, tropical and stone fruit, and an almost syrupy texture that suggested sweetness followed by realization it was quite dry. This is a big riesling with lots of flavor and complexity though the finish is relatively simple. Reasonable acidity. Was too cold when first poured and improved as it warmed. A touch of alcoholic heat from the 14.5% alcohol content distracts but it is a very good wine.

  • Big, dense, powerful riesling with flavors of golden apples and honey. Some bitterness and alcoholic heat on the finish detracts slightly, but this is a serious wine.

  • Doing a little Cellar Tracking today, so I unscrewed the cap on this wine as I was arranging things.

Yellow-gold in the glass, with a mineral-drenched nose and sweet apples and pineapple in terms of fruit.

This is a big riesling, with an almost glyceral feel. Adequate acidity - I can recall David Schildknect being concerned with this wine's balance on release, but I think it has developed rather nicely. Good, not great, and not a bad way to spend an afternoon with!

  • Viscous, gold in color, with beautiful aromas of sour lime, honey & marzipan. Alcohol is too hot on the palate along with some
bitterness which turned me off to this wine. Unfortunately the palate didn't live up to the nose. 2nd day it smoothed out
but lost too much to retain any interest. Perhaps 5 or 10 years in the cellar would help although with a screwtop I wonder if
it's designed to go that distance.
