As much as I adore MdB's Vignaverde fresh, I thought it would be interesting to keep a bottle for a couple years. And here it is. EYE: gas precipitates on the glass; a bright yellow gold liquid holds it there. NOSE: a composed performance of lemon preserves, dried herbs, and smoldering flints and chalks. Adjustment brings out marks of striking mineral energy, along with tangerine confectionary, charred citrus oil, green apple peel, bing cherries, and almond. MOUTH: stylish, tuned balance of 1) minced nut lemon earthiness, and 2) pick pointed stone, herb, and seared edges. Appetizing, bitter sea finish. SUMMARY: four years from the harvest, it's ready to drink up. The transformation of bottle age is flattering even while it approaches expiration.

Pale lemon green in the glass. Aromas of citrus fruit (lemon, lime), peach, nectarine and a slight herbaceous tone that I can't really put my finger on. Palate is of medium weight with a lot of bright fruit shining through. Simple, not much depth to it, but tasty. Easy to recommend as an alternative to Pinot Grigio, but much more delicious.

Fait de 100% Grillo, original! Super beau, frais, franc et vif. De la pêche, des pommes, des citrons, des noix et une belle trame minérale se succèdent en bouche. Pas mal long et sèveux en finale. EXCELLENT!

Made with 100% Grillo from the Contrada Samperi, sand and limestone soils, harvested early to preserve the freshness, temperature-controlled spontaneous fermentation and ageing for six months on the lees in stainless steel. Minimal sulphur, 12.5% ABV. Wonderfully cool and fresh and minerally, matchstick and flowers, lovely vegetal notes and a ditto stuffing of crunchy but succulent fruit (zesty lemon, orange, white peach), relaxed and pure, perfectly balanced, slightly yeasty finish, good to very good length. Excellent value.

My second of this producer’s offerings, and another tight, crisp, refreshing wine, predominant notes of citrus and capers. Very good.
