First impression, wow! It jumps out of the bottle at you. Very dark in color with aromas of chocolate confection, red licorice, spicy cinnamon, black cherry, and a touch of wet autumn leaves. Medium full body with fighting acidity. This one dances around as if a party going on in the glass. Ladled cranberry sauce, raspberry pie, crushed pomegranate, mocha, and red flowers layer nicely and finish long and powerful. It's like drinking a raspberry jolly rancher. If this stylish wine were a person it would be Uma Thurman in Kill Bill.

Food Pairing: Pizza. Color: Deep ruby red, with a slight purple tones. Modest swirl in the turn decanter before tasting. Smell: Very floral and complex, some spiciness, vanilla extract, and a creamy chocolate richness. Fruit is very ripe, some plum and raisin, somewhat hidden by the other scents. Heat is noticeable. Taste: great spice throughout the mouth, woody backbone, finish is long and powerful, with interesting secondary flavors like sour apple, cinnamon, sour plum, and ginger. Compares itself to a Chateauneuf-du-Pape (90/10 Grenache/Syrah), and I'd put it up against any CdP for less than $40. Could mellow nicely with more cellaring, with a potential ten years or more drinking window.

Delicious. Still has some time left. Good weight and balance.

excellent again; really well rounded wine with enough acidity to stand up well.

excellent wine for the price; medium body; well balanced; first of four wines so from fuzzy memory; nice on the nose, some spice and good finish too.
