complex nose; light body/mouth texture, albeit evolving in the glass with unique sensations--sweet floral and grapefruit at the same time, plenty of je ne sais quoi; acidity and black tea keeps this bright; cherry is the main fruit, but this is not about the fruit; unique and likely found only on mount etna

This is a fascinating wine. Smells of truffles, almonds, orange zest and blueberries. Perhaps mountain herbs like rosemary. Sensational - an incredible wine - ethereal, phantasmagoric, mysterious, utterly mesmerising, profound. Ace. Mind-blowing. Provides a real cultural counterbalance to Nebbiolo and Sangiovese. Fascinating terroir and varietal typicity here.

Tasted blind. Very high toned, heady nose of citrus and red berries. Powerful and drying tannins and lots of acidity with some red berries and sweet strawberries on the palate. Medium finish. This was quite difficult to taste right now, I suspect this needs quite a bit of time, but I don't know if it will ever evolve into a great wine...

PnP. Selection from my somm at K&L. Garnet. Kirsch and morels on the nose. Cherry dominates the palate. Full body, medium acid. Fine but prominent tannins. Cedar finish. I dig it but for $65 I wonder if I couldn't have found something better...
