Bottled by Fontanafredda (as are the newer Kirkland barolos), this is a reasonable though fairly simple barolo. This is drinking well at 7-8 years of age, with some tannins still apparent and plenty of kirchy fruits. Could go a few more years.

Very good, not great. Skews towards a Zin like character with Kirsch profile, yet nicely structured with baking spice and leather aromas. Tannins are a little astringent on the finish, though not oppressive. Strikes me as a Barolo to drink over the next few years, before age 10.

Light red color, smooth tannins, good acid with generous fruit, nice balance, not sure if aging helped but it did not hurt, 14.0% abv, drank with whole wheat spaghetti and meatballs, on to the 2019 vintage, a good value, interesting that there was no sediment.

Bright ruby red with slight orange hues on edge. Tar on nose. Cherry palate. Tannins prominent. Made for Costco by Fontanafredda.
