Friday Night Uptown Brown Bagger (R&D's): Double blind. Inky opaque color. Black currant, plum, mocha and brown sugar notes. Full-bodied, dominated by black fruit with plenty of barrel influence. No doubt a young CA cab sauv; could use a few years in the cellar to realize its full potential. (R&R)

Dfinately more of a carrot cake / baking spice / coco note to the nose. ANd very direct and powerful on the palate. And loads of structure as well. Loads. Like Barolo loads.

Napa and Sonoma (Hamel, Jewell, Reeve, Enriquez, Wren Hop, Phifer Pavitt, Gamble, Markham, Amulet, Pride Mountain, Pahlmeyer, Arrow&Branch, Fait-Main); 7/10/2023-7/14/2023 (Sonoma and Napa): Tasted at the winery. Bottle opened that morning before our arrival with no decanting. 100% cab. Deep purple color. Balanced with light tannin. More elegant than power. 15 months in oak. The best red served at the tasting IMO.
