Nice color and heady malo, vanilla, creme brûlée nose. At first I like how overt the wine was compared to some leaner white burgs, but i grew tired of it after a while and it started tasting cheap/fake. OK with cheeses, but terrible with truffle herb pasta and sautéed garlic escarole.

Damien Martin is Domaine de la Denante, and I love Domaine de la Denante wines. Unlike most Bourgognes, this is not the leftover wines from many vineyards throughout Burgundy but rather wines from the estate's vineyards in the Mâcon. The former can be hit or miss, but when generic Bourgogne comes from specific, estate-grown sites, if can be quite good, even spectacular. This has all the proper notes of a rich Mâcon, including the creaminess imparted by malolactic conversion.

Solid with good linger, bought at $16. More than decent white Burgundy. Will continue to develop.
