  • 93-94+. Unlike their 2019 kosher Volnay which is gushing with ripe fruit and approachable, this is much more tight and tannic. Still it has tons of fruit and more than the delicious 2017 counterpart (which is also excellent and more classic burgundy). Dense dark inky/dark ruby color. Dark berries and dark cherries on the bouquet with a hint of mineral spice. Medium to full bodied and concentrated. Layers of flavor and fruit. Dark fruits, fresh earth, dark berries, smoke, mineral, long tangy acidic tannic finish with good fruit. This beast is a winner and will really reward cellaring. Worth trying now (before it shuts down). Best from 2029-2039, possibly longer. Cellar selection. If you're going to make kosher burgundy and charge a lot, at least make it worth it (this is worth it assuming the price is around the 2017 price). Highly recommended.
