Oregon Trip-Day 1 (Here and there, Willamette Valley): Medium yellow. Some reduction on the nose. Rich tropical fruit attack backed by leesy complexity, and a rush of citrus at the end. Terrific texture and depth. Tour de force for domestic Chardonnay.
This was side by side with an 18 Roulot Meix Chevaux. Out of the gate it was pretty aggressive. Initially showing just a hint of leesy notes, aggressive acidity with that high toned ginger note. Intense and long. Not a lot of oak showing now. Hold with confidence
Fantastic concentration and acidity 12%, has concentration of flavor and minerality, savory in tone, to stand up to the acidity. the very best of new world Chard
X Omni has quickly become my favorite of the Morgen Long bottlings. The 2019 is in a beautiful place now with a 45 min decant, but certainly has the backbone and acid to rest for several more years. I can definitely pick up the new oak on the nose, but it’s integrated seamlessly on the palate. Tasting notes: mandarin orange zest, honeysuckle, sea salt - just wonderful. IMHO - Morgen Long is producing some of the best domestic chardonnay right now.

Great balance. Stone fruits and citrus. Good acid. A dash of oak that still needs to be integrated. Solid bottle.
