Really enjoyed this fresh, crisp, tart and citric driven wine from Seth Morgen Long. This was shared over dinner in less than ideal stemware with close friends and blackened redfish with a spicy green curry. The wine held up to the spices nicely and it accentuated the almost trocken Riesling-like character. This wine had lots of lime peel and mandarin fairly light in body for chard. Acid not as enamel ripping as the 20s (which I adore) but still in the same ballpark for sure. Can’t get enough SML chardonnay
Morgen Long Chards: Reduction and flint smoke and a bit of lees richness. Graham cracker, lemon curd. Decent tension and the palate. Not as much as the Marine, but more than the WV. Not quite the midpalate weight as the Marine, and not as rich as the WV
ABV: 12.99% Closure: natural cork Stem: Grassl Liberte Decant: 3h slow-ox Tech info: 50-50 blend of Seven Springs and X-Omni Vineyards. Fermentation in stainless steel and aged in 15% new oak for 18 months. Seth published all the geeky details on each wine on his website

Ordered a mixed case of 2019 chardonnays from Seth after being very impressed by the couple 2018 bottles I sampled. This Eola-Amity Hills bottling is a blend of 50% Seven Springs vineyard and 50% X Omni vineyard. Consumed from a Grassl Cru glass.
Flint/matchstick on the nose, leading into lime zest, underripe Granny Smith apple, ginger, mint, and crushed rocks. With some air (Seth told me to decant, but I already had the wine in the glass), more lemon/lime oil and baking spice notes waft from the glass. The wine is bright on the palate, with shimmering acidity, yet delicate and fades gently with citrus flavors over a long finish. My first go at the 2019 Morgen Long wines, can't wait to try the rest.
